Shanghai is the starting point of this tour, visiting the waterfront Bund, as well as the fashionable Nanjing Road. Heading toward Mt. Huangshan, take a cable car ride up to the midway point of Mt. Huangshan, extolled for its “Four Ultimate Beauties.” Visit the world heritage site Hongcun, its beautiful sceneries appeared in “Crunching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” and Jingdezhen, a 1700-year-old capital of porcelain making industry. Take a cruise down the Yangtze River and view the majestic Three Gorges.

Day 1 | USA-Shanghai  

Depart USA aboard a flight bound for Shanghai, China's largest City.

Day 2 | Arrive Shanghai  

Meet our tour guide and transfer to our luxury accommodations. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 3 | Shanghai  AB,L,D

Start our city tour at Nanjing Road, ground zero for shoppers and entertainment seekers. Move on to the splendid City God Temple Bazaar, and then continue on to the famous waterfront Bund, a mile long stretch along the Huangpu River. After lunch, visit the world famous Shanghai Museum (No audio service).

Day 4 | Shanghai - Huangshan - Hongcun  AB,D

Journey to Mt. Huangshan by high speed rail. Upon arrival the coach takes us to Hongcun*, an ancient traditional village with well preserved paved streets, architecture, decorations, and houses with comprehensive water systems. Overnight at Hongcun.

Day 5 | Hongcun - Huangshan  B,L,DH

We depart Hongcun in the early morning for Huangshan. Once arrive a cable car ride* takes us up to the midway of Mt. Huangshan for a sightseeing tour of the areas. Mt. Huangshan* is extolled for its “Four Ultimate Beauties” - unusual rock formations, pine trees, sea of clouds and hot springs.

Day 6 | Huangshan  B,L,DP

Known in China as “The Number One Mountain Under Heaven”, Mt. Huangshan was listed by UNESCO as an official World Cultural Heritage Site in 1990. This morning we get up early to enjoy the fantastic view of sunrise amidst a sea of clouds in the summits. Then continue our unfinished sightseeing of Huangshan before descending the mountain and return to Tunxi later in the afternoon. Our tour of Tunxi will show us the famed Tunxi Ancient Street. For dinner, a Local Specialty Cuisine will be served.

Day 7 | Huangshan - Jingdezhen  B,L,DP

To top off our tour in Huangshan, we visit the China Huizhou Culture Museum*. And then depart for Jingdezhen, a 1700-year-old capital of porcelain making industry. The city tour features visits to the Porcelain Museum* and the Ceramic Factory*. This evening we enjoy the Jiangxi local specialty cuisine for dinner.

Day 8 | Jingdezhen-Jiujiang-Wuhan  B,L,DP

Proceed to Jiujiang, an ancient city of rice and tea established by the emperor Qin Shi Huang. Along the way enjoy the fantastic scenery of Mt. Shizhongshan. In Jiujiang, we have a brief tour of Xunyanglou Pagoda*. Continue to Wuhan. Upon arrival we explore the popular Yellow Crane Tower* and the famous Bells Museum*. Tonight, enjoy the Fish Dinner Feast.

Day 9 | Wuhan-Yichang-Yangtze River  AB,L,D

Depart Wuhan for Yichang, the site where our ship is docked and awaiting us. Upon our arrival at Yichang, we board our Victoria Cruise ship. We set sail in the evening for our exciting Yangtze River adventure. Nearly 4000 miles long, the mighty Yangtze River is the world's third longest river and flows eastward into the East China Sea.

Day 10 | Yangtze River  B,L,D

Spend the morning viewing the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges ship locks. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges.

Day 11 | Yangtze River  B,L,D

Depending on the river conditions, our shore excursion is either along the Goddess Stream or Shennong Stream to explore Small Gorges. Board smaller vessels to access this tributary of the Yangtze. Return to the ship and enjoy as the vessel passes through the narrow meandering passages of the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.

Day 12 | Yangtze River  B,L,D

Today, our shore excursion will take us to either Shibaozhai or the "Ghost City" Fengdu, depending on river conditions. In Shibaozhai, time is taken to see its famous 12-story tall wooden pagoda. . Descend the mountain and return back to our cruise ship as it continues the Yangtze.

Day 13 | Yangtze River-Chongqing-Beijing  B,L

Our Yangtze River Cruise comes to an end with the arrival at Chongqing. Disembark the cruise, a brief city tour takes us to Eling Park* and the Chongqing Zoo* for the adorable panda bears. For lunch we enjoy a local Spicy Hot Pot Cuisine. Later, leave for Beijing by air and upon arrival transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 14 | Beijing-USA  AB

All too soon, our China adventure has come to an end. Fly back to the US with memories to last a lifetime.
